The Union Awards is one of our biggest and most extravagant events of the year! This is a night of rewarding and celebrating the achievements and successes of all the wonderful students who get involved with the SU. The awards recognise the amazing contribution of students who participate in sports, societies, the course rep scheme, and individuals that have offered outstanding contributions to student activity on campus  

The Union Awards will take place on Wednesday the 14th May 2024. You can expect a spectacular evening of drinks, food, music and, of course, the awards!  

The celebrations begin in the SU Gallery, with a red carpet, photographer and time to enjoy a free welcome drink on arrival, before moving through to Weston Hall where you'll be served a delicious 3 course meal prior the ceremony.

A legendary afterparty will be held in Freddie's to finish the night! DJ's will be creating good vibes, playing a range of genres so you can celebrate your wins and party the night away. So, get your best outfits ready for one of the biggest and best events of the year!

What does my ticket include?  

• Entrance to ceremony 
• One cocktail/mocktail on arrival

Can I bring my own alcohol?  

No, Any alcohol brought onto the campus or into the event will be confiscated, there will be bag checks upon entry.

What is the dress code?

We encourage everyone to wear formal attire, like a proper red carpet event! Of course, we want you to feel comfortable, so there isn't a strict dress code for entry, whatever makes you feel great!

If I didn’t get a ticket for the ceremony can I still come to the after party? 

You will be able to buy a ticket for the after party online or on the door. Doors for the after party will open at 10:00pm. However, there will be a limited amount available. Last Entry will be 11:30pm. 

What do I need to bring? 

Legal ID, student ID and proof of ticket

If I decide to give my ticket to someone else what happens? 

It would be a shame for you to miss out on one of the biggest events of the year, but if you are unable to attend and decide to give your ticket to someone else you can transfer your ticket to them, however you will need to email su.studentgroups@uwl.ac.uk with any dietary requirements otherwise the person receiving your ticket will receive your food choices.

What if I forgot what meal I chose? 

Your meal option will be on your ticket receipt, and we will have record of it as well. 

How long do we have for the drink’s reception?  

The drinks reception will be from 6:30-7:00pm so make sure to arrive on time. Dinner & the official ceremony will commence after the drinks reception! 

Last entry for the ceremony is 7:00pm.

Roast Chicken with Dauphinoise Potatoes, Carrots, Green Beans, Yorkshire Pudding & Gravy Halal

Salted Chocolate Torte with a Raspberry Drizzle (Vegetarian + Halal)
