Join us for an exciting spring trip to the historic market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, famously known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare.
During the visit, you will discover some of Stratford’s most iconic sights, including Shakespeare’s birthplace, the beautiful River Avon, as well as lots of wonderful places to eat and shop. This trip is a wonderful opportunity to see the sights of a truly history location.
You ticket includes your coach trip to and from the Universty of West London.

Itinerary:
8:00am: Arrive at the front of the University of West London, where an SU staff member will great you for check in. Coach will be leaving imminently and will not wait, If you are not there on time - the coach will leave without you.
4:00pm: Arrive at meet up spot in Stratford-upon-Avon ready to travel back to London!
Drop off and pick up point: Riverside Coach & Lorry Park, Stratford-upon-Avon, 10 minute walk to city centre.

1. Travel Details
• Departure Point: St Mary’s Road Campus, Front Entrance, W5 5RF
There will be a representative from the SU here waiting to check you in.
• Meeting time outside university: 8:00AM sharp.
• Meeting time in Stratford to return to London 4:00PM sharp.
• Drop Off & Pick up Point: Riverside Coach & Lorry Park, Stratford-upon-Avon, 10 minute walk to city centre.
• Please note: Travel times are estimates and may vary due to circumstances beyond our control, such as traffic or weather delays.
Important:
• The coach will not wait for late arrivals in the morning or at the return departure point. Please ensure you plan accordingly to ensure you are at the SMR campus on time.
• If you miss the morning departure or the return journey, you will be responsible for arranging and funding your own travel.
• No refunds will be issued for missed departures or late arrivals.

2. Ticketing and Identification
• Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable, except in the case of event cancellation by UWLSU.
• Tickets must be issued in the name of the attending student to ensure we have the correct contact and student information.
• You must bring your student ID and proof of ticket purchase to board the coach.
• UWLSU reserves the right to verify student enrolment status before travel.
• All attendees must be current UWL students, unless otherwise stated by UWLSU.

3. Coach Allocation and Travel Conduct
• You must travel on the coach assigned to you on arrival, due to capacity and safety reasons.
o If you wish to travel with friends, please arrive together — though this cannot be guaranteed.
• Seatbelts must be worn at all times while the coach is moving.
• Emergency exits must always remain clear.
• Smoking and vaping are not permitted on the coach or near boarding areas. You will be removed from the coach if you are found to be vaping or smoking on board.
• No alcoholic drinks or hot food may be consumed on the bus.
• Please keep the bus tidy. Any damage or cleaning fees charged to UWLSU may be passed on to the responsible student(s).
• Loud, disruptive, or antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated.

4. Code of Conduct & Behaviour
This is an official UWLSU event — all participants must comply with the University of West London Student Code of Conduct.
• Be respectful towards staff, students, the driver, and members of the public.
• Intoxication: Anyone found intoxicated before or during the trip may be refused travel without refund.
• Drugs: UWLSU maintains a zero-tolerance policy for illegal substances.
• Any breach of conduct may result in removal from the trip and referral to the University’s disciplinary process.
• Participants removed from the trip are responsible for arranging and paying for their own return travel.

5. Health, Safety & Personal Responsibility
• You are responsible for your own belongings; UWLSU accepts no liability for lost or stolen items.
• The city area may be crowded — please stay aware and keep valuables secure.
• It is recommended to travel in pairs or groups for safety.
• Dress appropriately for any potential weather (warm layers, waterproof footwear).
• If you have medical conditions, accessibility requirements, or other needs that may affect your participation, please inform UWLSU before the trip.
• Follow all safety instructions given by UWLSU staff or coach operators.
• In an emergency, call 999 first, then contact the UWLSU Trip Phone (07507556229) If you decide to leave Winchester early or separately, you must:
1. Call the UWLSU trip phone, and let us know you are departing on your own terms and confirming you will not be getting the coach back.
2. Send a confirmation email to su.events@uwl.ac.uk to ensure there is a written record.

6. Liability & Insurance
• UWLSU accepts no liability for personal injury, loss, or damage except where caused by proven negligence.
• Travel and participation are undertaken at your own risk.
• Attendees are encouraged to obtain personal insurance if desired.

7. Photography & Media Consent
• By attending this trip, you consent to being photographed or filmed by UWLSU staff or representatives for promotional use (e.g. social media, website, newsletters).
• If you do not wish to appear in photos or videos, please inform a member of staff at the start of the trip or in advance by emailing su.events@uwl.ac.uk
• You are encouraged to share your own photos — tag @uwl_su on Instagram so we can repost your experiences!

8. Policy Enforcement
UWLSU staff reserve the right to take any necessary action to ensure safety and uphold conduct standards, including:
• Refusal of travel or removal from the event, and/or
• Referral to the University disciplinary process.
Failure to comply with these terms may result in exclusion from future UWLSU trips or events.
