We are pleased to announce the launch of Creative Insights, a live-streamed research seminar series, hosted by the London College of Music, UWL. The series brings together artists, practitioners, and researchers across the fields of music and drama.
In the first event of the series, Dr Remy Haswell-Martin (London College of Music, University of West London) and Dr Adam Martin (University of Huddersfield) will lead a discussion on creativity, affect, and agency, drawing on their forthcoming co-authored text on collaborative songwriting for Cambridge University Press, and Dr Martins Collaborative Songwriting: In the Room (Routledge, 2026). To inspire discussion, they will share new perspectives from phenomenology and embodied cognitive science as well as key findings from in-depth interviews with working songmakers. Asserting affective experience as central to the lifeworld of creative musicians and to the framing of creative consciousness, they will encourage participants to consider how collaborative creation is sensed and sustained in a range of artistic disciplines and practices.
